Kenney focuses final weekend of election on pipelines in northern Alberta

CALGARY – UCP Leader Jason Kenney spent his Saturday in northern Alberta where he focused on pipelines and Alberta’s energy sector.

Speaking at an oilfield service company in Valleyview, Kenney talked to supporters about how the tar sands movement coming out of the United States is deadlocking Alberta’s energy sector.

He told supporters if elected the UCP government would take legal action to deal with the organizations in the United States, along with working on Alberta’s relationship with provinces like Quebec.

“We Albertans, from diverse backgrounds, plead with our fellow Canadians saying this, ‘If you want to continue to benefit from our hard work and our resources, you have to let us develop those resources, get them to global markets and get a fair price for them,'” Kenney said.

Kenney says he understands Albertans are feeling a sense of isolation when it comes to the oil and gas industry but explains the province has plenty of support from around the country.
