OTTAWA (660 NEWS) – Alberta Premier Rachel Notley is in Ottawa as she makes her case against Bill C-69.
Notley presented her case before a Senate committee on energy on Thursday morning.
The legislation would dramatically change the way natural resource projects including pipelines are reviewed.

Notley has opposed the bill in the past but rather than remove it, she wants to create timelines to prevent court delays and political interference.
“I am not one of these people that will say scrap the bill because frankly, the alternative is not certainty either. What we need to do is get it right.”
Newfoundland Premier Dwight Ball also spoke to the committee and his message was more blunt, calling the bill a job-killer.
“When the money leaves, the investment leaves, we all know what goes with that and that’s jobs”

Saskatchewan Energy Minister Bronwyn Eyre said that in its current form, the federal government can’t guarantee the never-ending delays and court challenges.
Bill C-69 has already passed through the House of Commons and needs approval from the Senate before it becomes law.
