RCMP officer dragged by vehicle near Morin

DRUMHELLER (660 NEWS) — An RCMP officer sustained minor injuries following an incident near Morin Wednesday evening.

Around 5:45, police were attempting to arrest the driver of a car when an altercation occurred between the officer and the man.

As the incident was happening, officers say a silver car driven by a woman pulled up, and the man hopped into the vehicle.

The officer attempted to stop the driver but was dragged by the vehicle before firing his gun at the car and freeing himself as the vehicle fled the area.

The male suspect is being described as Caucasian, wearing a dark winter jacket and a ball cap with a light/tan coloured visor.

The woman is described as Caucasian, with dark hair, and a tan coloured jacket with a fur-lined hood.

It is not known if either of the suspects were injured in the incident.
