Warrant out for man suspected of stealing guitars from band 54-40 in New West

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) — New West police think they know the person responsible for stealing five guitars from well-known rock band 54-50 last October.

Police confirm they’ve issued a warrant to arrest 39-year-old Yannick LePage. He’s wanted for possession of stolen property in connection with the stolen guitar investigation. Five of the seven stolen guitars were recovered in Surrey, along with some electronic equipment.

“Once arrested, he will be put before the courts to answer to the allegation,” Sgt. Jeff Scott says in an email.

Police say the stolen guitars were valued at around $50,000.

The guitars were apparently taken from a U-Haul cube van was parked in front of Queens Park Care Centre in October, 2018.
