Edmonton police lay charges in city’s first homicide of 2019

EDMONTON (CITYNEWS) – Edmonton police have charged a man with second-degree murder in connection to the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man on the weekend.

Martin Ronald Damien Grey, 32, has been charged after the incident.

On Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, police responded to an apartment complex near 110 Avenue and 124 Street after reports of a disturbance.

EMS pronounced the 20-year-old man dead shortly after arriving to the scene. Police say a suspect in the case was in the vicinity with non-life-threatening injuries and sent to hospital.

An autopsy took place on Jan. 7, where the medical examiner determined the cause of death was stab wounds.

The victim, who won’t be named, and suspect in the case are known to each other.
