Alcohol a factor in fatal crash near Lac La Biche

LAC LA BICHE – RCMP have said alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed two women and two children on a northern Alberta highway.

Mounties said a truck and an SUV collided head-on north of Plamondon, near Lac la Biche, on Sunday night.

A 34-year-old Edmonton woman and two children who were passengers in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.

A man driving the SUV and another child were flown to an Edmonton hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old woman from Plamondon, who was a passenger in the truck, also died.

Two men in the truck were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
