Red Deer RCMP looking for suspect involved in a theft at local hotel

RED DEER (660 NEWS) – Cell phones, a wallet and a small number of controlled substances were taken from a Red Deer hotel.
On November 23 at around 10 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Quality Inn on 50 Avenue.
Members say the suspect knocked on the door of a hotel room, identified himself as hotel security, and demanded that the man and woman in the room open the door because they were causing too much noise.
Once inside, he brandished what was thought to be a handgun and directed the female victim to the floor and that’s when he took the items and fled on foot.
Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
