LEDUC (660 NEWS) – We are starting to learn more information about a fatal workplace incident at an industrial site in Leduc on Thursday.
Three workers died at the Millennium Cryogenics Site, a company that works with the oil and gas industry.
Occupational Health and Safety and the RCMP continue to investigate what happened.
“It definitely has an impact and it’s being felt in the hearts of everyone today,” said Nikki Booth with the City of Leduc.

Booth also said that City Council observed a moment of silence during their budget deliberations.
“The community overall is feeling quite sombre about the magnitude of this loss. Anytime anyone passes away in our community, we have about 34,000 residents, so we’re fairly tight-knit.”
Carly Robinson with City News in Edmonton said she talked to many from the community who are still coming to grips with the tragedy.
“A few of them have told me that they couldn’t sleep last night. They didn’t see anything, they didn’t hear anything but they knew what happened and these are people that they know it’s their neighbours. Everyone goes to each others business for help around here.”
The identities of the three workers have not been released.
